Decoporium is a wonderful store for anyone in search of vintage, retro, revival or upcycled homewares, furniture, gifts, and more. It’s full of design inspiration, plus you can buy really cool and handy interiors accessories such as unusual door knobs and chalk paints.
It’s quite large, with more than 70 individual traders and crafters – and a new crafting department has recently opened. And if you want letters and lights, or letters and lights combined, this is the place for you.
It’s at Thorpe Arch Retail Park, which is near Boston Spa and Wetherby. Thorpe Arch in itself is a fascinating place. It was a Royal Ordnance Factory, completed in 1942, making a variety of types of munitions, and lots of units are semi underground and covered in grass, so you walk in through a small entrance into what suddenly becomes a huge space.
It’s next door to The Bistro Café, a fantastic and very busy café that serves delicious soups, cakes, puddings and bakes, sandwiches plus lots of main meals (fish and chips), all made on the premises. It’s been there for 30 years and seems to be legendary, judging by the vibe and the number of people there on a Friday lunchtime.
There’s also a St Michael’s Hospice furniture shop at Thorp Arch and plenty more to see, to well worth checking out. Plus there’s a playground.
Decoporium is at Unit 9.7 Thorp Arch Retail Park, Wetherby, LS23 7FE. Tel: 01937 842200, opening Mondays to Saturdays, 10am-5pm, Sundays to 4pm
