It’s a gorgeous Yorkshire of vintage tomorrow with two fabulous fairs in the county – the Saltaire Vintage Home & Fashion Fair and the York Fashion Week Vintage Fair. Spoilt choice. Maybe it’s possible to take in both.
Run by Caroline Brown of Rose & Brown Vintage, the Saltaire Vintage Home & Fashion Fair takes place at Victoria Hall, Saltaire, West Yorkshire, tomorrow 9.30am – 4pm, bringing vintage fashion and homewares from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Established in 2007, the fair features 48 stalls of quality traders. Caroline says, “We have stallholders selling everything from 1950s frocks to Art Deco prints, kitchenalia, vintage toys, vintage vinyl, hats, shoes, handbags, collectable books, jewellery from every era, mid-Century ceramics, small furniture, vintage lighting, curios, radios, industrial salvage and so much more.
“There’s lots of vintage fashion – so you can fill your wardrobe with stylish Spring coats and jackets and outfits for work or fun. There’s something for everyone as we choose stallholders with diverse, quality stock, which includes fabulous homewares too. We are dedicated to true vintage, which means everything must be over 25 years old, and our stallholders bring plenty of bargains, but also rare collectors’ pieces. With refreshments provided by Shipley’s Interlude Tea Room, plus a soundtrack of tunes from the 20’s to the 80’s, it’s a lovely way to spend a Saturday.”
It’s £3 full price / £2 concessions / under 16s free. Future dates of the Saltaire Vintage Home & Fashion Fairs are: 29 June, 21 & 22 September, 30 November. Rose & Brown Vintage also organise vintage fairs at Whitby Pavilion, at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley and at Lotherton Hall for Leeds Council. Website www.roseandbrownvintage.co.uk
York Fashion Week Vintage Fair is run by Sue Ryder and it takes place at Society on Rougier Street in York, 10am – 5pm, free entry and it includes recycled fashion alongside all the vintage.
York Fashion Week has been a huge success to date and runs until this Sunday, so there’s still time if you want to go.
