It’s a bumper weekend for vintage events. Two of the very best specialists in Yorkshire, Rose & Brown and Keeley Harris, are staging fairs. Thankfully, it is possible to visit both.
Caroline and Julian, of Rose & Brown Vintage, are in wonderful Whitby at the Pavilion with their October Seaside Vintage Fair. I’ve seen some of the preview pictures and the stalls are amazing, packed with some fantastic treasures. The event runs Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, 9.30am – 4pm.
On Sunday, October 11, Keeley is bringing her Vintage Home Show to Yorkshire for the very first time. She launched it in Manchester in 2012 and it has been a massive hit, attracting visitors from all over the country.
The event is at Pudsey Civic Hall on Sunday and is dedicated to homeware from the 1950s to the 1970s. There is everything from the finest mid-century furniture and retro lighting to artwork, ceramics, glass and textiles.
Keeley says “I really love this show and the traders really do make sure they have some amazing things saved especially for the event. It’s about time I organised a show in Leeds and I know I will want to buy just about everything”
Keeley has just recently released her first book ‘Style Me Vintage Home’ (Pavilion) and will be signing copies at the show as well as offering her top vintage styling tips to those who need a bit of inspiration.
The Vintage Home Show runs from 11-4pm on Sunday, October 11.
