One of our favourite Yorkshire makers is thrilled to bits after his work appeared in the window of the top and totally fabulous London store, Liberty.
Appearing on the shelves in Liberty is the holy grail for many designers so a place in the West End shop window is doubly special for etched glass artist and brilliant wordsmith Andy Poplar, who trades as Vinegar & Brown Paper.
The vintage TV with etched screen is part of a display to promote Liberty’s most recent pop-up shop: Rockett St George, an online retailer that has a huge fanbase thanks to its quirky and beautifully chosen homeware. It stocks Andy’s work, of course.
We congratulate Liberty, along with Rockett St George founders Jane and Lucy, on their excellent taste and for spotting Andy’s talent. We adore his work and he’s a lovely, humble kind of chap. This “Liberty moment” couldn’t have happened to anyone nicer.
Here are some more examples of Andy’s work, all available from Rockett St George, Liberty and his own website.
