If, like us, you love making things and learning new craft skills, take a look at The Workshop.
Founded by interior decorator Chrissy Rhodes, it offers weekly classes and one day workshops in everything from wallpapering, art and upholstery to sewing, book binding and jewellery making.
The Workshop is housed in a converted barn in Ebberston, near Scarborough. Visit www.the-workshop.info
Chrissy has a great sense of humour as her Twitter followers will know, see at @CreateWorkshop
Plus, check out the blog at www.the-workshop.info/blog for a good laugh. It includes posts from her husband, otherwise known as Ian’s Ramblings. Here’s what he had to say about Strictly:
“We’ve reached that time of year when they resusitate Brucie once again, polish Tess Daly’s teeth, dress everyone in sequins and launch another series of Strictly Come Dancing. This is when Chrissy starts whistling dance tunes, gets herself all in a froth about Anton du Beke, and begins to entertain the ridiculous idea that we should take up ballroom dancing lessons!
“I’m sure other blokes around the country go through similar traumas. It’s bad enough for men to have to sit through the programme without the knee-buckling fear that the better half is going to suddenly rush off and sign you up for dance lessons. My dancing skills are on a par with my brain surgery skills, and I could make Ann Widdecombe seem like Darcey Bussell in comparison.”
