Festive inspiration at the Country Living Fair

December 8, 2016 | 1 Comment

Hello, all – just time for a quick post this week as we are madly trying to write all our Christmas features at real work, and that seems to be taking over our so-called spare time.
Still, I did make it to the Country Living Christmas Fair last week. It was rammed, it was crazy, it was fabulous.
Actually, I have mislaid my camera from the visit, so these are ones I took on my phone. This means I have yet to find my Sophie Likes images (fab shop in Harrogate, full of unusual Christmas gifts, plus retro mages of skiing resorts that you can personalise). I’m sure the camera will turn up. The house is in chaos as I prepare for the family’s visit – 15 for Christmas Day – and gradually update all my decorations. I hope to post pics of them soon. I’ve got two trees this year, bought from the wonderful Regal Fruiterers on King’s Road in Harrogate. One for the garden!! And I’ve been buying lights and sheepskin rugs and more lights and … I’ve only just begun. Although I haven’t bought any Christmas presents yet, what with decorating being far more important than giving.
By the way, I also went to the Christmas Fair at Ripley Castle last week, which was lovely, but the pictures for that are on my camera.
I digress. Back to The Country Living Christmas Fair in Harrogate. Here’s what caught my eye this year:

Stars and trees from Light Style London. If I had my way, practically everything would come with fairy lights.

Lovely reindeer designs from Mosney Mill.

The Harrogate Candle Company was there too - gorgeous aroma, classy packaging.

And finally, Betty's was showing off its festive fayre. Can't wait to check out more in the Tearoom (PS see also Sharon's piece, the post before this one).

I wouldn’t mind one of those stars in your first picture – there is a little fox at the bottom, looking up at the owl, and I’m all about foxes this year 🙂
A Christmas fair at Ripley Castle? Now that’s something I’d love to have seen; Ripley is a great place to visit.
As for the fair in Harrogate, I must ask my sister-in-law how she liked it.
