Ceramic showcase by Anna Whitehouse – Sketching in Clay; 100 Bottles in 100 Days. A hundred bottles created by a Yorkshire ceramic artist on show today at The Leeds Craft Centre and Design Gallery, City Art Gallery, Leeds. Last year Anna completed a 100-day challenge that started on January 1 to make a ceramic bottle a day for 100 days. When All is Quiet: Kaiser Chiefs in Conversation with York Art Gallery, Exhibition Square, York, until Feb 12. Rock band Kaiser Chiefs explore the boundaries between art and music in a unique exhibition, aiming to rethink sound as a medium, and inviting visitors to join them in exploring the edges between music, art, creation and performance. The exhibition includes works by internationally regarded sound artists, a “set list” of songs in response to works from York Art Gallery’s collection and a “silent gig” – using light, colour, and lyrics to create an immersive experience of a live music show and its elements. https://www.yorkartgallery.org.uk/exhibition/when-all-is-quiet

The Hepworth Prize for Sculpture, The Hepworth Wakefield, until Jan 20. Exhibition featuring the work of shortlisted artists competing for this £30,000 biennial award recognising a British or UK-based artist of any age, at any stage in their career who has made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary sculpture. The BFG in Pictures, York Art Gallery, until Feb 24. An exhibition of original Quentin Blake illustrations, prepared for Roald Dahl’s classic story The BFG. Curated by Quentin Blake himself, the exhibition contains 40 original artworks, including rarely seen unpublished illustrations, exhibited alongside the final illustrations for the book, giving an insight into the collaboration between author and artist. https://www.yorkartgallery.org.uk/exhibition/the-bfg-in-pictures
