Yes, it’s official! We have opened our very own little shop-within-a-shop at fabulous new Harrogate shopping destination 53 Bo’ Grove.
Although Sharon and I have been talking about having a Gorgeous Yorkshire shop for years (ever since we started taking stalls at Yorkshire vintages fairs), it all came about rather suddenly. We read that 53 Bo’ Grove (it’s on Grove Road, opposite Grove Road School) had launched, we went along to see it and immediately we loved it – and, crucially, we could see that others felt the same way. We decided we could not pass up the opportunity to become a part of it.
So NOW we have a fab unit (thank you, Kyrensa and Andy) at the far end of the ground floor. We love the space. We have sourced lots of gorgeous Yorkshire vintage pieces including vintage fashion and accessories, vintage and upcycled furniture, vintage glassware and retro kitchenalia, vintage jewellery, original paintings and unusual prints, chests and storage solutions, fascinating old books (Peanuts and Charlie Brown, anyone?), toys and more!
We’re always on the lookout and we buy only what we love – so much so that we are struggling, frankly, with the concept of letting it go. But we are in business to sell (sigh) and we are going to be mixing it up and adding newness all the time (it’s really good fun).
There’s another GY post lower down our home feed on 53 Bo’ Grove itself opening, so take a look at it to find out more. It’s an amazing place with a real buzz, fabulously friendly and it’s getting better every day with lovely talented traders, artists and makers including: Floral Design by Caroline; INTU Vintage & Retro; Stillington Vintage Emporium; P&C Music; Sealed With A Heart; Softpots; Swish & Sway; Mia’s Urban Vintage; Art by Sara Z; Arty Little Stitcher; Light & Shades; Paul Franklin Photography; Mez Makes and more, plus pieces by founder Kyrensa Bentley and manager Andy Atack.
There is also a lovely cafe on the site (great soup and amazing cakes) AND, as of last week, The Refilling Station Harrogate – a brilliant new shop where you can buy and refill your own containers with eco-friendly household products and kitchen staple foods.
There’s a new website coming soon, meanwhile check out the 53 Bo’ Grove Facebook and Instagram posts. Oh, and do come and see us soon! PS, there are plans for a Christmas fair, possibly at the end of the month. Will keep you posted.
