If you’re interested in crafts and want to learn some new skills then the friendly Crafty Ladies group at the Washburn Heritage Centre at Fewston church could be for you.
Meeting on the last Saturday of the month from 9.30am-noon, members of all ages come from as far afield as York, Harrogate and Otley as well as from the parish of Fewston and outlying farms.
Recent classes have included learning silk painting techniques, making stunning jewellery, Christmas decorations, felting, rag rugging, contemporary crocheting and stone painting, The next session will be making dry felt Easter chicks. If you have your own projects to work on – a number of members do needlework – then you can bring that if you prefer.
The next meeting is on March 28 and if you’d like to come along, or know more about the group, which is for Washburn Society members, contact the Heritage Centre co-ordinator Rachel Bachelor on 01943 880794 or email centre@washburnvalley.
