I love old houses but I now I find myself lusting after new ones. It could be because I have spent all my home owning life- almost 30 years – renovating and DIY’ing and never really finishing a whole house, mainly through lack of funds.
How amazing would it be to move the furniture in, maybe paint a few walls and hang some curtains then have all your weekends free, knowing there are no niggly jobs to do.
If I had an unlimited budget, I might choose this low-maintenance townhouse in York. Stone Court, Dalton Terrace is £775,000 and for sale with Jackson, Stops and Staff.
It’s in a fantastic spot close to the city centre so you can walk to the Minster/shops/restaurants/theatre etc. It’s got two sitting rooms -see above and below.
It has also got a pool room so my partner would be very happy.
My partner loves this games room
It is arranged over five floors and has two private parking spaces – these are like hen’s teeth in York – and a walled courtyard garden.
In all it has a reception hall with cloakroom off, principal living area with mezzanine floor overlooking the dining area.
There’s also a games room, drawing room with French doors opening to a balcony, contemporary living kitchen with large dining area and bi-folding doors, utility room and pantry.
There’s also a principal bedroom suite with en-suite shower room and walk-in dressing room, guest bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two further bedrooms with en-suite facilities and an office/bedroom five.
The landscaped walled garden also looks easy to manage, which is good as I’m also planning to have a cottage in the country and an apartment by the sea…one day, maybe!
