Stepping into the perfect Potting Shed

The Potting Shed is near Harewood Bridge.

The Potting Shed is my new favourite find. I feel as if I have discovered a little secret gem,
although no doubt lots of people have already found it, especially garden-love.

I have the space for everything here - everything.

It was because I needed a new plant for the back yard that I decided to go take a look. It’s not
far from Harewood Bridge, on the left as you go up the hill in the direction of Harrogate from
Leeds. People who regularly drive that way will know the Pick Your Own signs, because that’s
what Wharefedale Grange, the home of The Potting Shed, does as well.

The blending of wood, metallics, glassware and

The blending of wood, metallics, glassware and the blues is irresistible.

So there I went, and what a surprise. It’s absolutely wonderful, completely charming, run by
this really lovely woman who is very helpful if you have questions about plants, for a start.
And the products that she has chosen to stock are amazing, all sorts of pieces for in the some,
garden, conservatory, orangerie, garden room, whatever. Glassware and vases, plant pots and
boxes, candles and string lights, furniture and so much more.

I love this illuminated heart - might have to go and get it.

Here’s the link to find out more:
http://www.wharfedalegrange.co.uk/Wharfedale_Grange/The_Potting_Shed.html – the site
says it’s open 7 days a week, 10am – 6pm for 10 weeks from May 1st, and here are a few words
taken from the site, to explain a little more, as I have to dash – but I’ll leave you with some
pictures.

Inside is an absolute treasure trove.

Inside is an absolute treasure trove.

“Plants, pots, gifts, garden ephemera, urns, lead planters, interior pieces, French tables and
chairs, mirrors and zinc buckets, log baskets, candle holders, small baskets, ornaments and
too many pretty things to mention! We also hire out candle holders, large urns, twisted bays
trees and garden tables and chairs for weddings held here. This was our new venture in 2010
and it has evolved from a love of beautiful gardens, being outdoors and a frustration of
finding interesting things for our own garden.”

As for that vase, I just have to think where I can put it. The Potting Shed is full of treasures.
