Vintage fairs don’t come any better than those organised by Rose & Brown, which is why I am looking forward to this Saturday’s event (April 2) at Victoria Hall, Saltaire. It runs from 9.30am to 4pm. The quality of the vintage treasure on offer is guaranteed and there’s always a fantastic mix of fashion, homeware and quirky bits and bobs that can’t quite be categorised. The soundtrack is an eclectic mix of tunes from the 1930s to the 1980s and, of course, there is tea and cake.
My stall is in the Evans room and, thanks to my “vintage” car, aka my geriatric Ford estate, breaking down, I won’t be able to bring much furniture with me this time. Instead, I am planning to bring smaller items of homeware and a fashion rail. Everything will be crammed into my daughter’s little Clio… because there is always a plan B and I am not missing out on vintage fun, nostalgia and friendly chats about times gone by.
