Three cheers for designer Jessica Hogarth, who is celebrating the launch of her Tour de Yorkshire wallpaper for Graham and Brown. It is, of course, inspired by the Grand Depart.
Jessica, who lives in Robin Hood’s Bay, was one of 13 young designers chosen to create a wallpaper pattern for Graham and Brown as part of its efforts to champion emerging British talent.
Keen to celebrate her home county, she came up with a Tour de France theme and drove round the course looking for ideas for her design.
“I also read an interview with Gary Verity, of Welcome to Yorkshire, about how they secured the bid. He really inspired me,” she says.
The wallpaper features hills, viaducts and buildings based on Yorkshire landmarks and famous independent shops, including Betty’s in York.
