It’s vintage fair time, which means I have been forced to decide which of my treasures to say goodbye to. My passion for collecting is fickle. One minute it’s printers’ trays and the next its Sherborne stools. Most recently it has been plant pots. I now have far too many so am selling some at the vintge fair at Ilkley Playhouse, Weston Road, Ilkley, on Saturday, March 26, 10am to 4pm. The event is organised by Jill Coulson, aka Alfie Robot Retro, and it is full of fabulous stalls selling everything from fashion and textiles to homeware. The stallholders are a wonderful, friendly bunch and, of course, there is a vintage tearoom. Just my cup of tea and cake.
My obsession with retro coffee tables has got well and truly out of hand so I am bringing a couple of those along too, along with my much-loved, 1960s bucket chair (I may even cry if someone buys this from me)
I am a magpie when it comes to costume jewellery, mainly brooches and clip-on earrings, so there’ll be a jewellery corner on my stall. For football fans who are nostalgic for the 1970s there are copies of Shoot magazine.
I adore pottery but my kitchen cupboards are bursting so these finds will be on my stall.
This folding bench is perfect for sitting on and as a plant stand in the garden. It will also double up as a picture display stand at the fair.
