THIS WEEK: Christmas Show, The Craft Centre and Design Gallery, Leeds, Nov 19-Jan 11 (closed Dec 24-Jan 2). A celebration of contemporary craft by established and upcoming makers. York-based artist Loretta Braganza is one of the makers taking part, the first time that her Shimmer collection – loosely based on traditional Indian clay and metal and vessel forms – has been on show in Yorkshire. Her work sits alongside decorative and functional glass, ceramics, wood and works in mixed media showcasing a variety of skills and techniques. www.

THIS WEEK: York Ceramics Fair, Sat, Nov 23-Sun, Nov 24, 10am-5pm, York Hospitium, Museum Gardens, York. Forty of Britain’s brightest ceramicists showcase a selection of their hand-crafted pieces. Running alongside the fair is a discovery programme all about ceramics in collaboration with the Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA). https://
NEXT WEEK: The Knitting & Stitching Show, Harrogate Convention Centre, Thurs, Nov 28 to Sun, Dec 1 Featuring workshops, free craft and equipment demonstrations, artists, dressmaking competition, daily upcycling challenge and hundreds of exhibitors selling craft supplies. Also fashion show on Fri, Nov 29, 5pm, with collections by fashion and textile design graduates and lecturers from Harrogate College, Huddersfield University and Leeds Arts University. www.
ON NOW: Alan Davie & David Hockney: Early Works, The Hepworth Wakefield, until Jan 19. Alan Davie, who had his first solo exhibition at Wakefield Art Gallery in 1958, was a major influence on the more celebrated Hockney, then a student at Bradford College of Art. The exhibition features 45 paintings and works by both artists. https://
