THIS WEEK: Helmsley’s seventh annual Christmas Tree Festival, 10am-4pm, until Dec 15, All Saints Church, Church Street. Featuring 25 individually decorated trees on the theme of Christmas Favourites. ON NOW: Christmas Show, The Craft Centre and Design Gallery, Leeds, until Jan 11 (closed Dec 24-Jan 2). A celebration of contemporary craft by established and upcoming makers. York-based artist Loretta Braganza is one of the makers taking part, the first time that her Shimmer collection – loosely based on traditional Indian clay and metal and vessel forms – has been on show in Yorkshire. Her work sits alongside decorative and functional glass, ceramics, wood and works in mixed media showcasing a variety of skills and techniques.  www.craftcentreleeds.co.uk

ON NOW: Alan Davie & David Hockney: Early Works, The Hepworth Wakefield, until Jan 19. Alan Davie, who had his first solo exhibition at Wakefield Art Gallery in 1958, was a major influence on the more celebrated Hockney, then a student at Bradford College of Art.
